Neelamperoor Padayani

Neelamperoor Padayani is a distinctive traditional festival celebrated at Neelamperoor Palli Bhagavathy Temple in Alappuzha District during the Malayalam month of Chingam, usually in August or September. The festival is famous for its colorful Kettukazhcha processions featuring large decorated effigies of swans and mythological figures such as Bhima, Ravana, and Yakshi. Accompanied by traditional music, rituals, and community participation, the celebration showcases the rich folk heritage and cultural traditions of Kerala.
